If you want to make money from your blog, be serious about it and treat it as a real business.
What I mean about that is don’t depend on free stuff only and operate without spending a dime. Purchase a domain name either from these two well-known and trusted domain registrar: godaddy.com or namecheap.com. Consider also the storage or placeholder of your web pages or blog by buying web hosting. It is where you have a complete control over your website or blog including the design and code-behind.
You don’t want to experience what happened to multiply.com site. They are very popular and (more…)
I’m an avid fan of reading lots of books ranging from personal development, self-help, motivational, inspirational and business books. And most of the books I read suggest that we can earn as much as we want because the only determiner of it is our mind (Whatever our mind limits us to do, earn and achieve). “Whatever our mind can conceive and believe, it can achieve” by Napoleon Hill.
If you have a full-time job where you earn your primary income in a form of salary, that is an active or linear income. But if you think that the money you get from (more…)
I decided to move the domain name of this blog from GoDaddy to Namecheap despite the former is more popular than the latter. These two domain registrars are included in the recommended list of almost all well-known bloggers. Anyway, the reason why I transfer it is because GoDaddy doesn’t offer free WhoIsGuard feature to the site (to prevent seeing the sensitive information of the blog or site owner such as our full name, address and contact numbers) but Namecheap has it for free. Another thing is the price of the domain (including renewal) in the former is much expensive compare to (more…)
Since you already know that I’m also a reader of blogs of other great bloggers, I am here to write a content or an insight about a specific post which John Chow wrote.
I realized and learned from John that we should make our blog a one stop shop.
Just imagine a mall. I know you’ve already visited and experienced this feeling: wherever you go, everything you need follows you. If you’re hungry, there are food stalls and restaurants in there. If you’re tired strolling, there are movie houses and cinemas that can entertain you. And a lot more!
Also, it’s obvious that if (more…)
This is what I observe in the nature of people. Whenever you offer someone something, the first thing he/she thinks of, regardless if they implicitly or explicitly say it to you, is “what’s in it for me?”. It’s the same also when they are the one who show something to you.
Actually, that’s what happened to me last week. I will not mention his name as well as what he offered to me specifically. This someone contacted me through email and negotiated with me about something. At first, I was like agreeing with his idea. He basically wanted to post/have an advertisement (more…)
Since yesterday, I’ve noticed low earnings and clickthroughs in my AdSense account. So in response to this, I decided to do some investigation on this blog and I found out, perhaps, the ad placement was the culprit as well as the size of the ads. I did some tweakings and see what would be the result within a week.
Another thing I did was I checked out blogs that really earn money online. From what sizes of ads to use up to where these ads should be placed. Also, don’t forget to have a specific and targeted topic or what we call (more…)
I just want to share with you these statements which I got from an article few days ago:
“Someone who does a thing for fun is different from someone who does the same thing for a living.”
“Similarly, there is a critical difference between the person who blogs for fun and the person who blogs professionally.”
It hit me and asked myself what did I do for the past 2 years of blogging. I think I’m not serious enough and treat my online business as just my hobby. I guess this is the reason why until now I haven’t made my first 100 bucks. (more…)
