Don’t Look Outside, Look Inside

I learned that if you’re planning and looking on what kind of business to start in, then don’t look outside and be hard on yourself, but look inside.

What I mean by this is don’t imitate what others are doing just because that business is in or is doing well because chances are it will not work to you or you lose interest on it as time goes by.

Look at your skill sets and choose one among those that you really love doing and profitable. Meaning even if you’re not being paid to do it, you wake up every day and do it anyway. You will not treat it as a work or job because you love what you are doing. But I warn you that you should treat it as a business. Be serious in achieving your goals at the same time enjoy every moment.

I will include here a paragraph that captured my attention and the reason why I wrote this blog post in the first place. Here it is:

“Unfortunately, most people are looking for the right business outside of themselves first instead of looking inside of them. Know yourself first and the right business will reveal itself.”

I do not recall where I got that paragraph. I guess it came from the blog of either John Chow or Fitz Villafuerte (By the way, I consider those people as my mentors).

Also, that is what I learned after attending the “Let’s Get Down to Business” workshop of Francis Miranda last April 8, 2017, at Launchpad Coworking inside the Commercecenter at Alabang.

I learned that we should carefully choose what business to take off and should be based on what skill, interest, and passion we do have.

By the way, I’m planning and about to start a new business I have in mind. And that is teaching interested people on how to start and self-publish their book. I will make an announcement once the course is available to the public.

Anyway, I hope you like what you read. Feel free to share it with your friends on Facebook, Twitter and other Social Networking Sites you have.
